This June, Dolphio Technologies’ sign language translator, SignAll has won the LT-Innovate Award in Brussels. The members of the awarding institute (Association of the Language Technology Industry) are composed mainly of companies and research institutes developing language technologies, as they believe that projects engaging in interactive communication are highly important in a multilingual world.
The success is primarily the result of the technology that lies behind SignAll, as it not only recognizes signs but also translates them into English. The success series of the Hungarian sign language translator has a long history. It has been selected among the eight best innovations at Singularity University CEE’s Global Impact competition in 2014, established by NASA and Google. SignAll has also met with a warm response at the Pioneers festival in Vienna and at the Slush festival in Helsinki. Before the LT-Innovate Award, SignAll has won the audience award at the CEE Lift off! startup competition at the Smartmobil 2015 conference, which was organized in the Hungarian Várkert Bazár. The technology is able to translate from North-American ASL in real time, which is used in the US alone by more than a half million people.
